Personalised Yoga
Yoga is a spiritual path, that brings us back in touch with our true nature. The practice helps us to cultivate a deeper relationship with ourselves, including our body, breath, thoughts and emotions, and establishes an internal centring so that we can ride the waves of life with greater ease.
Yoga originally referred to meditative practices, and these are emphasised in my teachings. In my experience it is meditation that has the most profound potential for healing, transformation and embodied liberation.
Personalised yoga sessions are designed to meet your individual needs. At the end of each appointment you’ll be given a tailored programme that you can easily practice at home, so that the benefits of the session can be maintained. All appointments are held via Zoom.
What is meditation?
Meditation is a practice that focuses the mind in order to achieve greater mental clarity and stability and brings us into awareness of our true nature. The practices that I teach embrace every part of the human experience, so we work with all emotions and thought patterns, and everyday situations can therefore become a doorway for meditation. Through these techniques we can begin to examine our concept of reality based on our words, thoughts, stories and labels, and experience the greater reality beneath them. We then become less identified with our limited sense of self and more identified with our true self, which greatly lessons our suffering and increases joy and wellbeing.
Meditation brings our awareness into the inner body, so that we become more familiar with our inner state and the energy pathways and prana flowing in the body. We may work with attention, breath, mantra, mudra, visualisation, feeling states and physical actions, depending on the intension and individual needs. If working with yoga postures this is done is such a way that we observe how placing the body in different positions opens up different energy pathways and meditative states.
